Rescue Me ID: 14-10-16-00115Larry (male)
'Larry' is a 12-14 week old lab mix puppy who was brought into the vet hospital for being very sick. His family was unable to afford treatment but agreed to surrender him over to the hospital. After a weekend of intensive care in the doctor's basement, 'Larry' pulled through! Now he is bright, vibrant and very very smart. He is still being treated for a skin condition but is expected to heal completely. He is currently 15 lbs and should mature to be 45-50 lbs as an adult. He has had his first set of vaccines, been dewormed and will be scheduled for a neuter as soon as his new home is found. He knows how to 'sit' and 'come' and is learning ... Rescue Me ID: 14-10-11-00360Jeremiah (male)
This is Jeremiah! We picked him up from the local pound on October 11th! He is quite the gentleman, good with everything and everyone. He seems to have a fatty tumor we're going to have checked out, but otherwise he's healthy and happy! Jeremiah would be great for first time pet owners or an older home looking for a calm and quiet dog. He is house trained and will be a great companion! Rescue Me ID: 14-10-11-00155Copper (male)
Meet Copper, a 6 year old chow/collie mix. He is such a sweet boy just wanting to be around his person but he loves the company of his foster canines! He is an easy going pup and would love a home of his own. He is gentle and loves people, not minding who handles him. He went to the vet and groomer yesterday and just let them do their thing. He was dirty and matted and now is soft and clean. If you are interested in this boy, contact his foster mom, Nicki, at [email protected] or Maggie's Mission. Thanks! Rescue Me ID: 14-10-10-00341Pumpkin (female)
Meet Pumpkin! She is one of three bonded dogs who were found with their deceased owner after a week alone. They did not have any family or friends to take them in, so they got dumped off at their local pound. We stepped in and saved them all. Their names are Harley (Rat Terrier), Shep (Black Shepherd), and Pumpkin (Australian Shepherd). Of course, we would love to find a true hero out there to adopt all three together as they are adults who have been together their entire lives, but we may entertain a home who could take one or two as we know how difficult it will be to home them together. Please contact us at [email protected] ... (Read More)for an Adoption Application. (Less) Maggie's Mission Horse & Dog Rescue Medina County Sharon Center, OH MAP IT!

Rescue Me ID: 14-10-09-00529Quinn (female)
No Men. No Children. Owners running out of options. Hi, my name is Quinn. I am a very sweet three year old Boxer who is looking for a new happy home. My people rescued me a couple of years ago and I became a special part of their family. I had a rough start to my life, but my people took me into their home and helped me become who I am today. I really like women, but I am still a little nervous around men. A man must not have been very nice to me when I was a puppy, but I really love the man I call my daddy. I am great about going outside and obeying my electric fence. I am potty trained. I may grab a stray shoe from time to time, but ... (Read More)overall I am told I'm a great girl! I'm good on a leash and I LOVE to go on long runs with my momma. I love being with other doggies and I like cats too! Unfortunately, kids scare me, and they make me nervous. My parents brought home a baby last year, and now that baby is walking. He likes to tug on my ears and corner me in the living room, and it really makes me scared. I will miss my family so much, but ultimately I would be much happier in a home without little humans. My parents want to do what is best for me, as sad as it is, this means finding a new family to love me and care for me. They will want you to come meet me, or bring me to meet you first. If you are interested in giving me the home I need, please contact [email protected] to connect with my parents. Thank you! Rescue Me ID: 14-09-25-00214Bandit (male)
Hi! This is Bandit. He was rescued from a busy retail area during a terrible thunderstorm. He was wandering- lost, wet and afraid. Finally, it was raining so bad that when we opened our truck door he jumped right in. Bandit is about 4 years old and weighs a slim 37.5 pounds. Bandit seems to be a shepherd mix with possibly some Chow or Akita in him. He is a loyal dog - loves to be with you right by your side! He also loves to take walks- get the leash out and he gets so excited he almost can't stand it! He walks very well on a leash. He loves to be outside and smell the fresh air and roll around on the grass like a puppy;-) He also loves to ... (Read More)chase his tail! Take note that Bandit is a runner - if you let go of his leash he will be gone like the wind. However, with a loud firm no he usually stops and waits for you to get him. Bandit is potty trained! He shows no aggression at all with food or even with the vet. He is very laid back most of the time and will be a wonderful addition to a family looking for a new furry friend. Bandit is being fostered with a bichon frise and two cats and does well with them. Adoption Fee: Male $175 If you are interested in adoption, please submit an adoption application. Rescue Me ID: 14-09-24-00186Mika (female)
Sweet little Mika is a goofy and fun little girl. Weighing only 38 pounds, this pocket-pittie has quite the athletic build - she is compact but strong! Mika is about 2-3 years old, spayed, and UTD on shots. She was rescued from Cleveland Animal Control in March 2014 and has been with her foster family since. Her foster parents lovingly call her Mika Sue, it just fits her fun personality. Mika LOVES people, but can be too overwhelming for small children. She has learned 'off' very well, but when she is excited or playing she can easily jump straight in the air and unintentionally hurt a little one. Mika has also learned sit, and stay, as ... (Read More)when her foster parents got her, she didn't know any commands at all. She is treat motivated, so training with treats works well. Mika is crate trained and she NEVER has accidents in her crate. She is crated 8.5 hours each day, and is crated for 8 hours at night. She would love to cuddle in bed, but her foster family already has a bed sleeper! Mika truly feels safe and secure in her cage, so she does really well. When let out of her cage, she can be quite rambunctious! She goes right outside to potty and play - she does get the zoomies! This little lady LOVES to be outside. She enjoys going on walks, but we are cautious of loose dogs in yards as she becomes very fearful and nervous, therefore a fenced yard so she can get exercise would be ideal. She will play her version of fetch, which usually involves bringing it back a few times, and then she racing around the yard by herself playing 'keep away!' She loves plush toys - but needs the tough ones! Mika enjoys chewing on nyla-bones and antlers. She eventually loses interest in them until you bring her a new one! She does not have any issues with humans taking them away from her. Mika has been known to grab a stray household item, a sock or shoe, if left unattended, so keeping an eye on her until she knows toys from non-toys is important. Mika is also very good about being fed. Mika must sit and wait for her food to be put in her bowl. Her foster parents are able to reach in and take food back out without any aggression. The hurdle for Mika is other animals. She seems to have a high prey drive with cats, and she is very afraid of other dogs. She seems to be much less concerned with small dogs, but her foster family has two large dogs and they are always separated. It seems to be a female-to-female issue, as she seems to be far more playful with males. Mika doesn't seem to know how to 'play' and her body language becomes stiff after a while. She is very curious at first, but tends to become scared. Above all, Mika is a lover. She loves to give kisses, and get cuddles, and she loves to please. She is a happy girl who always seems to have a smile on her face. She is curious, friendly, and fun. The poor girl was probably not socialized, and kept as a breeder. If you raise your hand anywhere near her she flinches, so we know she wasn't in a good situation. She does very well with positive reinforcement and treat training. Mika needs a family to be patient with her to understand that she did not come from a good home, but she is willing to learn and eager to please!
